The Marvel Of Facebook Friendships

No automatic alt text available.

How much of your day do you spend on Facebook? If you're like me, there are days when I really need to step away. I find it hard to remember a past life that did not include firing up the computer or cell phone and thumbing through the messages.

Of course, one of the really big advantages of Facebook is the ease in being able to stay up-to-the-minute-in-touch with my extended family. We are scattered from Rhode Island to California, from Michigan to Texas. Any day, any time of day, I can zip out a message to any one of them and hear what kind of a day they are having, what's new in their lives and how things are going.

But what really amazes me is the close connections Facebook has enabled me to form with people I've never seen or met who, because of their life situation, I will only know through their Facebook postings. Despite the distances, some of them half-way around the world, Facebook has enabled me to come to know them like someone who lives in my neighborhood.

How has Facebook changed your life?

  1. I've had to schedule my time on FB or any other site because too much time gets away from me. That said, I've developed friendships I never would have had the opportunity to forge without it. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
